From: The WILLOW Project Board of Directors
RE: Angel Charlene Stewart
It is with incredible joy that The WILLOW Project Board of Directors announces the pending parole release of Angel Charlene Stewart. Angel was only a teenager when she was kidnapped, held captive and brutally abused; taken along by her captors on a crime spree, she was charged along with them for crimes she did not commit.
Angel’s son Shane is thrilled with this recent development and is anxiously awaiting welcoming his mom home for the first time in more than 25 years.
We would like to thank The Missouri Board of Probation and Parole for its careful consideration of the facts of this case and seeing the inherent injustice in this case.
The WILLOW Project was formed in 2013 with the mission of assisting society’s forgotten incarcerated women and righting the wrongs of the justice system. Angel was our first client, and it is fitting that she benefit first from the work of attorney Anne Geraghty-Rathert, board members Shane Kincaid, Eileen McManmon, Maddie Rouse, and Krystal Schaaf, along with the countless interns, students, Webster University faculty and staff, journalists, and community agencies that assisted with The WILLOW Project’s mission.
